Marwadi University

Marwadi Education Foundationwas established initially as an integrated campus in 2009 and attained the status of a university later in 2016. Being one of the most prominent universities in Gujarat, Marwadi University has a strength of 10,000+ students in various programs offered at the UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels. The parental organization of Marwadi University, MEFGI has obtained NAAC A+ accreditation. The University has been declared the ‘Center of Excellence’ by the Government of Gujarat. Besides these, Marwadi University is equipped with the PARAMSHAVAK supercomputing facility. Recently, the University witnessed immense growth in Research and Consultancy. The departments succeeded in publishing a total of 185 journal papers, 40% of which are SCI indexed, 30% are Scopus indexed, and the rest are under other publications. Despite the overpowering pandemic conditions for the academic years 2019-20 and 2020-21, the faculty members of MU were able to file approximately six patents. Substantial growth was observed in the revenue from Research and Consultancy. Income from Research for the year 2020-21 was around ₹ 20 Million, and that from Consultancy was around ₹ 17 Million which reflects a significant increase compared to previous years.

Marwadi University Center for Innovation, Incubation, and Research (MUIIR) was inaugurated on December 5th, 2020, by the then Chief Minister, Shri. Vijaybhai Rupani. It is the recently established new vertical which is committed to nurturing & promoting innovation in the field of technology-based startups. The center funded more than 25 innovations with nearly ₹ 6 million disbursements for startups during 2020-21. Currently, MUIIR is working on some initiatives, including the Sensitization Programs, Wonder Woman, International Cell, Capacity Building Programs, etc. MUIIR has also incubated six startups for the year 2020-21. Furthermore, the university organized 15 events to promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship with the collective participation of more than 2500 students. An FDP under the Gyaandaan initiative titled “Creativity, Problem Solving and Innovation” by Dr. Anil S. Patel was organized by the MUIIR. A tinkering lab with an area of 2000 sq. ft., with a capacity of approximately 75 students, has become fully operational.

This year, the university has signed an MoU with Coursera by which students and faculty members are benefitted at large by enrolling themselves into multiple courses for no charge at their end. The University also initiated 26 collaborations, notably with Google, AWS, University of Coimbra (Portugal), University of Dunaujvaros (Hungary), ICT Academy, Energy Swaraj Foundation, MIT square services Pvt. Ltd and numerous other recognized institutions.

Catering to the Diversity portion of the below-mentioned Core Values, Marwadi University welcomes the International students under the SII Scheme. They comprise 65% of the total admissions under various government-sponsored programs. Around 40% of admitted students come from multiple states across the nation. As of today, we receive students from more than 50 countries all over the world. For example, during the AY 2020-21, 8 Students from our University went for the Semester Exchange Program at Lodz University of Technology, Poland. The University invited International experts to share their expertise with our students, as a part of which online sessions included a webinar by Dr. Shamala Subramanium from Universiti Putra, Malaysia; who spoke about Industry Revolution 4.0, and a webinar by Mr. Ram Kumar from the Ministry of Higher Education, Oman delivered an expert lecture on AI & ML.
